Academy product Jabez Makanda signs professional terms

The Under-19 forward has signed a one-year contract through to 30 June 2021, which takes effect from 1 July 2020.

Makanda, 18, joined the Eagles from 1. FC Nürnberg in 2018, having attracted their attention by scoring 22 goals for the Franconian club’s youth team in the Under-17 Bundesliga. He made 24 appearances in his first season with Eintracht’s U-19s, scoring three goals. The 1.86-metre frontman has netted four goals in 12 outings this term, helping SGE reach sixth place and 25 points.The teenager has already been given a taste of first-team training and even made an appearance for the senior side in a 9-0 friendly win in Mensfelden on 21 March, scoring Eintracht’s eighth goal in the 69th minute. A centre-forward by trade, Makanda has also appeared on the wing and in attacking midfield since his move to Frankfurt.
