Cavar departs after three years

Marijan Cavar has signed for SpVgg Greuther Fürth.

Eintracht Frankfurt have agreed a deal with SpVgg Greuther Fürth for the sale of Marijan Cavar. The midfielder was contracted to Frankfurt until summer 2021 but will now be playing for the second-division club.

Cavar moved to Eintracht from HSK Zrinjski Mostar in January 2018. Exactly four months after signing, he celebrated the Eagles’ fifth DFB Cup success. Three weeks before the final against FC Bayern, Cavar had made his Bundesliga and Eintracht debut against the same opponents, coming on for the last half an hour in Munich.

The Bosnia and Herzegovina U21 international spent the 2018/19 season on loan at Croatian side NK Osijek.

Sporting director Bruno Hübner explained the decision: “Because of the quality of our squad, Marijan has not been able to get more playing time with us. We hope that he can soon prove his ability more regularly.”
