Philipp Max originally joined Eintracht on loan from PSV Eindhoven during the 2022/23 winter transfer window. During his first six months as an Eagle, he made a total of 15 appearances across the Bundesliga, the UEFA Champions League and the DFB Cup, registering one assist. Eintracht took up the option to buy in May 2023, extending Max’s contract through to 30 June 2026.
The 2023/24 season saw the defender make 23 Bundesliga appearances, scoring a goal and setting up another two, and also featured twice in both the DFB Cup and the UEFA Europa Conference League.
“During his 18 months at Eintracht, Philipp proved himself to be a team player and established himself as an important part of the squad,” said the club’s board member for sport Markus Krösche. “We agreed to his wish to seek a new challenge in his quest to get more playing time, and we of course wish him all the best over in Greece!”
It was a time full of passion and intensity, and one that I will no doubt look back on fondly.

“After a year and a half where I made 42 appearances and spent 2,571 minutes out on the pitch, my spell at Eintracht has now come to an end,” said Max. “It was a time full of passion and intensity, and one that I will no doubt look back on fondly. I got to know some great people and outstanding characters whom I really came to appreciate. Ideally, I would individually thank every employee and team-mate, and all the members of the coaching staff and the incredible fans. It was a pleasure to have been part of your special community. I hope you have a great season and wish you every success. I may be leaving, but I’m taking plenty of happy memories with me.”
