A Point at Least!

Ahead of the game away to 1. FC Köln (Saturday 15.30h CET) Eintracht manager Michael Skibbe talked about his injured defenders, the opponent and the weather.

Mr Skibbe, how does it look for Marco Russ?
He had problems with his knee and had to drop out of yesterday’s practice session. He’ll be examined and we will then decide if he can play on Saturday.

Will Alexander Meier be able to play?
That is not sure also. He will train today but not full stop. The decision will be made tomorrow after the final session.

How do the emergency plans look like for the defense against Cologne?
Aleksandar Vasoski will play. With the rest we’ll have to wait and see how things develop. Marco Russ has already played with a meniscus problem in recent months – the medics need to decide whether it got worse or not and whether he can play.

With all the snow today – is normal training possible?
Yes. As we train in the afternoon it was possible to prepare the pitch beforehand, we have good conditions.

Will there be a signing for the defense during the winter transfer period?
We will monitor our situation and whether we need to act. Generally we are satisfied and happy with the squad we have and do not want to sign players really.

What do you expect from the opponent?
We scouted them three times. They are better than where they are in the standings. Still Cologne is under pressure, they have to collect points against us. I expect them to play in a different formation than recently, with one forward and a line of three offensive players behind him. Our goal is certain: A point at least!
