The draw for the first round of the 2022/23 DFB Cup was made on Sunday evening, with Eintracht Frankfurt pitted against 1. FC Magdeburg between 29 July and 1 August.
“1. FC Magedeburg is one of the toughest draws we could have got in the DFB Cup first round,” said Eintracht board member for sport Markus Krösche of the draw. “It’ll be a real challenge to play against a team that has just been promoted to the second division in front of a noisy crowd. But our objective is clear: we want to progress to the next round and enjoy a better run in the cup than we did last season.”
