Evan Ndicka

At Eintracht since:
04.07.2018

Tough, quick and strong in the air

It didn't take Evan Ndicka long following his move from Ligue 2 to the Bundesliga to identify one of the main differences between the leagues. "The intensity is higher and the training sessions are longer," said the 19-year-old Frenchman, who moved to Eintracht Frankfurt from AJ Auxerre in the summer of 2018. The centre-back is used to living in major cities, having grown up in Paris with his three older brothers and older sister before joining Auxerre's youth academy at the age of 14.

Evan is also thrilled about the composition in the team: "This mix of different nations, the great atmosphere, that´s where I learn every day. There is a certain family spirit". The german language on the other hand seems to trouble Evan a little. Will he be able to learn it by Christmas? "Give me time until easter" said the inside linebacker, who can also be positioned on the "6" or "in case of emergency" as a left back.

Currently part of the France U20 set-up, the youngster perhaps took an even greater interest in the FIFA World Cup Russia than most of his compatriots. Les Bleus victory against Croatia in the final sent the entire nation into a frenzy, according to NDicka. "Everyone is proud and feels like a world champion", said the defender, who is particulary looking forward to playing in the UEFA Europa League alongside the Bundesliga. "It is one of the biggest competitions in the world", he said. "It was obviously an important factor in my decision to come here". The devout muslim can not wait for the season to begin with all its stress. He then wants to calm down and extinguish by watching "Prison break". This is an american series and, according to the internet, very interesting.
