A defensive specialist with great talent
As a member of a football-fascinated family, Almamy Toure has early started to dream of becoming a professional footballer. With the age of six years, the right footer who was born in the Malian capital Bamako, left his home country and moved to Paris where he grew up in the Département Seine-Saint-Denis and joined FC Bourget.
In 2010, he decided to move to the widely renown youth academy of AS Monaco where he primarily played as centre-back and right-back. Thanks to the convincing performances he regularly showed during his youth career, he was able to celebrate his professional debut at the age of 18 years in the Coupe de France. By scoring his first goal for the professional team he crowned his debut and contributed his part to AS Monaco's 3-1 victory against FC Toulouse. Just a week later, the defensive specialist already played his first league match against OGC Nice, followed by his first UEFA Champions League appearance which saw AS Monaco facing Arsenal London.
In the following years, the defensive talent demonstrated one excellent performance after another, resulting in Toure being nominated for the famous "Golden-Boy-Award" which is annually given to the best U21 player of the year.
This season however, Almamy Toure did not play as many matches as in the years before, not only because of his young age, but also due to the tough competition he faced on his position. Therefore, the 22-year-old defender took the decision to join Eintracht Frankfurt. After being sidelined with a thigh injury, he can't wait to get started and support the Eagles with his extensive skill set.
We on our part, are already thrilled to watch him demonstrating all of his class soon.
