Eintracht captain Tanja Pawollek, who has already been with the Eagles for six years, is set to remain at the club for another three at least after penning an early contract extension through to 30 June 2025. The midfielder’s previous deal was due to expire in 2023.
“It wasn’t a difficult decision for me because it was clear that I wanted to continue my journey here,” said Pawollek. “I love this city and the people at the club. You can tell that Eintracht value their women – it’s nice to feel that appreciation and realise how many people are behind you.

“The coming campaign won’t be easy, but we definitely want to make the group stage of the UEFA Women’s Champions League. Personally, I just want to play football now and help the team. It’s great fun for me to be back on the pitch after my injury and to move forward.”
“Since Tanja joined us six years ago, she has improved tremendously,” added head coach Niko Arnautis. “It feels like she’s been playing football at this level for 15 to 20 years, but she’s only 23 years old. Nevertheless, thanks to her experience, she’s already leading the team on and off the pitch. We’re glad she’s back to full fitness after her injury and that she’s now continuing her journey here.”
