Two goalscorers plus a EURO berth

Freigang and Prasnikar were on target in wins for their countries, while Switzerland – who had Mauron on the bench – secured EURO qualification via a penalty shootout.

Eagles midfielder Sandrine Mauron was on the bench for Switzerland in the second leg of their EURO 2022 qualification play-off. The tie went to penalties, with the Swiss edging out Czech Republic 3-2 to bag their spot at next year’s tournament.

Prasnikar and Freigang on the scoresheet

Lara Prasnikar was part of the Slovenia team that cruised to a convincing 5-0 win in a friendly against Slovakia, playing all 90 minutes and finding the back of the net into the bargain.

Laura Freigang also scored in Germany’s 3-1 win over Norway. Sjoeke Nüsken came on for the second half, Sophia Kleinherne played the last half-hour and Merle Frohms was an unused substitute.

Alexandra Johannsdottir played the entire match in Iceland’s 1-1 draw in a friendly with Italy.
