Zuber and Kamada on target

No defeats and some personal successes for the Eagles involved in Thursday’s internationals.

Cameo for Younes

Germany beat Iceland 3-0 in their opening World Cup qualifier. Kevin Trapp watched the match in Duisburg from the bench, while Amin Younes came on in the 86th minute.

Zuber and Sow feature in win

Switzerland also got their World Cup qualification campaign under way on Thursday against Bulgaria. Steven Zuber netted his team’s third goal in a 3-1 win in Sofia before being substituted in the 75th minute. Djibril Sow was introduced in the closing stages.

Draw for Ilsanker

Meanwhile, Austria took on Scotland in Glasgow, where Stefan Ilsanker was on the pitch for the duration of the 2-2 draw at Hampden Park.
Martin Hinteregger did not make the trip to Scotland due to a persistent muscular problem.

Kamada goal in Yokohama

Earlier on in the day, Daichi Kamada starred in Japan’s 3-0 victory over South Korea. Kamada started and scored the second goal before coming off at half-time.
