“A lot of fun to watch this team”

Ahead of the game against Augsburg, Adi Hütter discusses team news and gives his verdict on the season so far.

Adi Hütter on…

...Saturday's opponents: "Augsburg's a difficult place to go. They play combative, disciplined and efficient football. We need to be up for the fight from the word go. We're facing a very powerful side, but we'll do everything to break this winless run and end the year on a high. We'd like to go into the New Year with a good feeling."

...personnel: "Evan Ndicka has been given the green light for Saturday today. He's still doing some individual work but it looks promising. We'll decide who replaces David Abraham after training tomorrow."

…his options in attacking midfield: “I’m happy to have a number of options to choose from. At the moment Aymen Barkok and Amin Younes are playing very well, but Daichi Kamada is also someone who can provide inspiration, even if he wasn’t on the pitch for very long against Gladbach.”

We're facing a very powerful side, but we'll do everything to break this winless run and end the year on a high. We'd like to go into the New Year with a good feeling.

Head coach Adi Hütter

…the team’s recent run of results: “Once you’ve experienced something like this, you know how to get out of it again as a team. We’re playing at a higher level now compared to last year, and we showed that just before and just after the restart. We’ve come out of a spell like this before. I’m certain we’ll perform better in the new year this time around too.”

…his assessment of the season so far: “We started the season well. With a bit more luck we’d definitely have more points on the board and we wouldn’t be in this situation. Having said that, it’s a lot of fun to watch this team and to see the huge amount of desire each player shows in training so that they can give 100 per cent in the matches and pick up the next win.”
