Training

Down to eight

With the internationals away, three players injured and another three working individually, there were only eight players on the field for the start of the training week.

Only Yannick Brugger, Lukas Fahrnberger, Ajdin Hrustic, Timothy Chandler, Sebastian Rode, Evan Ndicka and Tuta were on the training pitch on Tuesday morning. Elias Bördner was the sole goalkeeper, so goalkeeping coach Jan Zimmermann helped out between the sticks in the training games, while Makoto Hasebe, Ragnar Ache and Jetro Willems completed individual routines. Erik Durm and Almamy Toure remain sidelined due to injury, along with youngster Jabez Makanda, who will be out for the rest of the season with a metatarsal fracture.

A total of 13 Eintracht players have been on their travels since the beginning of the week, contesting various qualifying matches with their national teams over the coming days.

Those who are left will have three more sessions this week, up to and including Friday.
