Veh: It is important to win

During today's press conference ahead of the match away to Eintracht Braunschweig (Sunday at 13.30h CET) manager Armin Veh offered his views on the current situation.

Mr Veh, who will be in goal on Sunday?
I will announce that on the day of the match. I am in the lucky position to have two very good goalkeepers at hand. In my opinion also the keepers can be changed, one might be more suitable for this match, the other one for another match. I am very happy to have two as good goalies in the squad.

What is the latest on the injury of defender Constant Djakpa?
It is looking good, he participated in the training session with the team again yesterday. Constant is not a snivelling guy. Others would be out for three weeks, he will fight it out.

What is important to you regarding the upcoming match?
It is important to show what we did not show against St. Pauli. The running performance needs to improve and so does the coordination looking at the match against St. Pauli. Overall the team needs to present itself tightened. Of course it is important to win the match and take away all three points.

You tried out various things in training and also in the cup match, did you already decide on a system?
Yes, it is also important to start playing a set system and to stick to it even if it does not work out 100% right away. That way the team will gain a sense of security and build up confidence. We will play 4-2-3-1.

Will the match against Braunschweig be something like an indicator?
Certainly. Braunschweig started superbly, the team is operating well as one can see and they are well-rehearsed. They play with a lot of discipline and routine.

The match already kicks off at 13.30h. How do you prepare the team for this game?
Bundesliga matches start later in the day, hence most of the players need to adjust to the kick off times. In regards to nutrition it is recommended to ingest carbohydrate three hours ahead of a match roughly. We will get up at around eight and have breakfast together. Then we will go for a walk and at around 10.30h we will have a meal rich of carbohydrate.
