Veh: A Tough Nut To Crack!

On Monday the Eagle's away match against Erzgebirge Aue will kick-off at 20.15h CET. During the pre match press conference today Eintracht manager Armin Veh offered his views.

Mr Veh, there are various injured players in the squad - what is the latest?
Mo Idrissou was only able to run today but he did not have any problems. It looks like he will join the full training again tomorrow. If he is fit on Monday he will play and it is likely.
With Alex Meier it is 50/50 whether he will be able to play with a slight advantage.
Stefan Bell is ill in bed and will not join the squad for the match on Monday.
Ümit Korkmaz will also not travel with us as he suffered an injury as well.

What came out of the checkup on Aykut Özer (the third goalkeeper)?
Everything is fine with him, he was a touch too ambitious and did too much in training so his knee is overstrained.

What do you think of the opponent?
Aue was amongst the teams aiming for promotion until late last season, this year they did not have a good start. Manager Rico Schmitt has got a team which is strong in defense and robust. His players are good in one on one situations and have physical strength. They are good in set piece situations and offensively as well as defensively capable. It is going to be a tough nut to crack, we will have to perform really well again.

Do you think Aue will play quite deep?
The more we improved the deeper our opponents played so far. We need to find ways to create scoring opportunities to succeed. But we have a strong squad that gets tested week in week out from scratch. We need to win against the top teams as well as against the teams such as Aue or Ingolstadt. But we have the ability to be successful.

How do you see the trip to Aue personally?
I never had a match in Aue so it is appealing to me. The crowd over there is also quite fanatic and Erzgebirge Aue as a club do a great job. We will bring along areound 1,300 away fans so we do not need to worry about the atmosphere.

Two youth players trained with the first team today?
Yes, Mark Schäfer and Lukas Ehlert. We will invite youth players more often now to join the first team, that way I get to know our youngsters better. Both did well today, I was pleased.
