Tough Games Lie Ahead

Top teams will be the opponents of Eintracht Frankfurt in the coming weeks: VfL Wolfsburg (champions in 2008/09), Werder Bremen (3rd last season), 1899 Hoffenheim (currently ranked 3rd) and Bayern Munich (champions last season).

The first big test is coming up on Saturday against VfL Wolfsburg at home (kick off 15.30h CET). Eintracht manager Michael Skibbe offered his views on the situation.

Mr Skibbe, will Sebastian Jung be playing on Saturday?

I would think so although he still has some problems. But I think he'll be able to fully partake in Friday's practice session and also to play on Saturday.

Theofanis Gekas did not fully train today. Is it something serious?

He has got a light muscular tension and did not join all exercises. That was purely being precautious, he is fully fit otherwise.

How strong are VfL Wolfsburg?

They are a very powerful side offensively with some class players up front. It will be our goal to neutralise their efforts. Last season we had our problems with them in both legs, I hope we'll cope better this time. We do want to win this game.

Will you set a player specifically aside to cover top striker Edin Dzeko?

No, I don't like it to put the focus onto one player and underestimate others. We should try to play our game rather than to look towards the opponent.

Are you planning to change the starting line up?

I don't think there will be any changes unless injuries will make them necessary.

Do you enjoy looking at the standings?

Yes, but it's all very tight. I am glad that we managed the recent run after the unfortunate start to the season. But incredibly tough games lie ahead. Every single point will be hard-earned.
