“We want to go through”

Oliver Glasner and Kevin Trapp give their thoughts on the upcoming meeting with Barcelona.

Oliver Glasner and Kevin Trapp on:

...personnel:

Oliver Glasner: “In terms of personnel we're at full strength. There's still a doubt over Djibril Sow. We'll decide on him tomorrow. Otherwise everyone's available.”

...Eintracht’s approach:

Oliver Glasner: “It's a knockout clash, so there can only be one target: a place in the semi-finals. We're aware it's going to be a very difficult task, but we've got confidence from the first leg. It's about delivering our best possible performance on the pitch tomorrow. If we don't do that, we've got no chance. The good thing is we've proven we're capable of that.”

Kevin Trapp: “Barca know you shouldn't underestimate us. Not just since last week but because we've proven many times in the past that we can stand up to big teams away from home.”

We need to be just as alert this time in terms of our defensive organisation and focus.

Head coach Oliver Glasner

...preparations:

...Oliver Glasner: “We’ve had another close look at the 90 minutes from the first leg. We need to be just as alert this time in terms of our defensive organisation and focus. We’ve also given some thought to what Barcelona might adjust, so that we’re prepared for it. I don’t expect Barca to change their playing style, but they might try to find spaces in different areas.”

Kevin Trapp: “Everyone's very well prepared and looking forward to the game. These are the matches you ply your trade for: a showdown at this stadium in front of this crowd. But make no bones about it, we want to go through.”

...the support of the fans:

Kevin Trapp: “We’re aware of how much the fans are looking forward to the game, but also the whole Frankfurt region. Everyone’s talked to us about it and wished us luck. I know some people who wanted to come here but weren’t able to make it. Knowing some of our supporters will be in the stadium will definitely help us. We appreciate the lengths they go to in order to be here in Barcelona tomorrow.”
