Eintracht Women lived up to their role as favourites in their home match against Köln, winning 4-0 in front of 1,020 fans at the Stadion am Brentanobad. Niko Arnautis’ side were superior throughout the 90 minutes and took the lead in the 34th minute through Lara Prasnikar.
An own goal from Myrthe Moorrees (49’) made it 2-0, before Shekiera Martinez wrapped up the three points for Eintracht with goals in the 56th and 86th minute. The win was their third in three matches this season, continuing Frankfurt’s perfect start to the campaign.
Shekiera Martinez, scorer of a brace: “I am very happy about my two goals and that we were able to win so convincingly. We prepared for an intense and physical game and played well from the beginning. In the course of the game, we became more and more dominant and were able to play to our strengths. Of course, the support of the fans gave us a boost.”
Eintracht return to FLYERALARM Women’s Bundesliga action after the international break with a trip to TSG Hoffenheim on Saturday 2 October (16:00 CEST).
