Skibbe: The Support is a Great Help

The South West derby against 1. FC Kaiserslautern is upon us, and it is time for the first win in 2011. The team was gathered for a short mid week training camp until Thursday in order to fully focus on the important match. Manager Michael Skibbe offered his views in yesterday's press conference.

Mr Skibbe, you and the team returned earlier from the training camp than expected, why?
The pitches in Westerburg were frozen hence we decided in the morning to come back to Frankfurt for the sessions.

What does the game on Saturday mean to you personally? Is it a match about all or nothing?
It will be an important and difficult match for Eintracht.

Are there news regarding Pirmin Schwegler, he did not join the training sessions today?
He had some problems with his adductors and in the end went to hospital for a scan. We will have to wait for the results.

Will he be able to play on Saturday?
He attended the morning session as usual and in the afternoon he was running only. Of course we will have to wait for the scan results but we are positive that he will be available on Saturday.

Can you explain why that goal is just not happening? Are you at a loss with the bad run?
There is no explanation for it actually. We had some great scoring opportunities, especially in the game against Stuttgart. We hope to succeed, and we work hard for it. It does not help to look back, we will focus on the remaining games.

What were your impressions of the team during training camp?
This week we had good and focused training sessions. The decent performance against Stuttgart is a big help and we want to build on it. The team is in a good condition and will do everything they can to show a good game.

Do you expect an opponent with rather defensive tactics?
No, I do not expect them to put their emphasis on the defence. The game will as always develop and a lot depends on the first goal. We definitely need that first goal to increase the gap towards Kaiserslautern. That is why we will attack and play disciplined concerning our tactics.

The team seems determined and confident. What is your perception?
Definitely, that is based on the last match. We want to win the derby, we want the first win in 2011. And again we hope to be able to rely on the fantastic and passionate support of our fans. That support is a great help to us.
