Training

Recharging the batteries

The Eagles are preparing to face Mainz and Rangers, and the recent measures to keep the squad fit ahead of these matches have paid dividends. Two players are also still training apart from the group.

Thursday morning provided fans with a taste of what is to come in terms of next Wednesday’s Europa League final. The sun was out and temperatures were over the 20-degree mark as 24 players, including three goalkeepers, came through training making sure that they avoided any unnecessary contact or injuries.

Two days of rest and recuperation, both mentally and physically, have done the Frankfurt squad a world of good. Tuta, who was taken off at half-time against Borussia Mönchengladbach as a precautionary measure, took full part in the session, as did Kevin Trapp, who needed treatment on his wrist shortly before full time on Sunday.

Rafael Santos Borré, Kristijan Jakic and Sebastian Rode, who were all rested for the Mönchengladbach game, also took part in Thursday’s 11-versus-11 training match. In addition to Martin Hinteregger, who will be out until the end of the season due to injury, Jesper Lindström and Danny da Costa also trained apart from the group.
