Race continues at both ends of the table

All the attention on Matchday 29 may be on the title encounter at the Veltins Arena, but there are several other highly important matches taking place in both the race for Europe and the fight for survival. bundesliga.de takes a look ahead to Saturday's action.

Eintracht Frankfurt v Bayer Leverkusen (15:30 CET)

Back on the scent for Europe after consecutive wins over Bayern München and VfL Bochum, Frankfurt face a tough afternoon's work against a Leverkusen side wounded after their own title assault showed signs of cracking in recent weeks. The hosts will be without midfielder Pirmin Schwegler and defender Chris after two clashed heads in training. While the Brazilian centre-back should be fit to play, the signs for Schwegler are less promising after he spent the night in hospital with concussion.

Leverkusen, meanwhile, go into the match having lost three of their last four, leaving them five points adrift of league leaders Schalke, their conquerors last weekend. Coach Jupp Heyncks continues to insist that he would be satisfied with a top three finish, though he was more belligerent about his side's chances of a result at the Commerzbank Arena: "We're going there to win," said the 64-year-old. The good news for the Werkself is that top scorer Stefan Kießling is set to return following his thigh strain, while Toni Kroos and Tranquillo Barnetta will resume their roles on the flanks as Renato Augusto misses out through injury. Arturo Vidal returns from suspension in defensive midfield, though it remains to be seen whether Gonzalo Castro will recover in time to start in defence.

Probable teams:

Frankfurt: Nikolov - Jung, Chris, Russ, Spycher - Schwegler - P. Ochs, Meier, Köhler - Caio, Halil Altintop

Leverkusen: Adler - Schwaab, M. Friedrich, Hyypiä, Castro - Vidal, Reinartz - Barnetta, Kroos - Kießling, Derdiyok
