HISTORY

The last time the Eagles hosted a competitive match against the neighbours of the ‘Bornheim’ district was 50 years ago, even before the Bundesliga was founded. In January 1962 SGE beat FSV 4-0 at the legendary Riederwald ground, many of Eintracht’s German champions of 1959 featured in that match.

FACTS

  • 4-0 was also the result of Eintracht’s first leg win v FSV this season. Benny Köhler scored a brace adding to the opening goals by Rode and Gekas.
  • The Eagles are the only team in Bundesliga 2 yet to lose a match at home this season.
  • Armin Veh collected 2.0 points on average with Eintracht, more than any other SGE manager ever did in Bundesliga 2.
  • FSV won only 4 of their last 37 league matches (21 defeats, 12 draws)!
  • They also collected more points in away games (11 in 10 matches) than on home turf (7 in 11).
