“We need to maintain our rhythm”

Oliver Glasner on balancing his players’ workload between Bundesliga and Europa League commitments and Jesper Lindström’s fitness.

Head coach Oliver Glasner on…

…absentees: “Rafael Borre is suspended, Jesper Lindström will miss out due to injury – he’s suffered a muscle injury in his thigh. Martin Hinteregger is ill and will stay at home. We’re leaving Sebastian Rode at home to manage his fitness. Erik Durm has had stomach issues and was back in training for the first time on Sunday. He won’t be involved.”

…rotation: ““We take the Bundesliga seriously and have analysed Bayer 04 Leverkusen thoroughly, but the line-up will be adjusted to manage the workload ahead of West Ham United on Thursday.”

…rhythm: “Apart from the away game at Union Berlin, we’ve done a good job of competing on two fronts so far.”

…Bayer 04 Leverkusen: “Leverkusen fully deserve to be competing for the Champions League places. They have a lot of pace, particularly on the flanks, and with [Patrik] Schick and [Sardar] Azmoun they have two strikers who can score goals. Despite several injuries, they still have an excellent squad. That’s why we’ve prepared for a very difficult game.”
