First hurdle cleared

Eintracht Women beat SV 67 Weinberg 7-0 in the second round of the DFB Cup to sail into the last 16.

Eintracht Women are through to the last 16 of the DFB Cup after a commanding 7-0 win at SV Weinberg.

In a one-sided contest, Niko Arnautis’ team dominated from the get-go and took an early lead through Sjoeke Nüsken (3’). Lara Prasnikar (18’) and Laura Freigang (37’) made it 3-0 at half-time, before Shekiera Martinez (49’), Géry Reuteler (62’), Nüsken (63’) and Virginia Kirchberger (67’) completed a thoroughly deserved win.

Head coach Niko Arnautis: “We wanted to live up to our role as favourites and did so emphatically by taking an early 1-0 lead. It was a very confident performance overall. The number of different goalscorers shows what a good squad we have in terms of depth. This versatility in attack has become one of our hallmarks.”
