Eintracht Frankfurt signs Bamba Anderson

Eintracht Frankfurt today signed Brazilian defender Anderson Soares de Oliveira - \"Bamba\" - of Bundesliga team Borussia Mönchengladbach.

The 23 year old will join the Eagles for one year on loan, a clause in the contract enables Eintracht to fully sign him thereafter. Anderson met the team for yesterday's training session already and will also be part of the squad travelling to Hallescher FC for the first round cup match on Saturday (kick-off 15.30h CET).

Anderson (height 1.88m) started his professional career at Flamengo Rio de Janeiro before joining 2. Bundesliga team VfL Osnabrück in 2008 (12 games). 2009/10 he joined Fortuna Düsseldorf, also in 2. Bundesliga, and featured in 32 games scoring 3 goals. It was then that German football magazine 'Kicker' ranked him top in the category 'best defenders of 2. Bundesliga'.

Last season he signed with Borussia Mönchengladbach where he had 13 appearances. Sporting Director Bruno Hübner: "Alongside Gordon Schildenfeld Anderson is an ideal completion of our central defense. He combines speed and physical play." Anderson will receive the shirt number 23.
