Eintracht Frankfurt cracks 100,000-member mark!

Eintracht Frankfurt has achieved another historic milestone in club history by passing the figure of 100,000 members.

Eintracht Frankfurt is currently one of the biggest sports clubs in Germany and the world. This development of our membership figures would have been virtually inconceivable for a long time, and obviously it makes me feel so proud that we have now achieved this special milestone,” said a delighted club president Peter Fischer. SGE are now fifth among all Bundesliga and Bundesliga 2 clubs combined in terms of membership, trailing only FC Bayern München, FC Schalke 04, Borussia Dortmund and 1. FC Köln. When Fischer became president of the club in 2000, membership stood below 5,000. “In my first ever press conference, I was laughed at for saying that 10,000 members was one of my initial goals,” Fischer recalled.

The expansion of the sports on offer as well as a huge increase in the number of active sportsmen and sportswomen is also partly behind the incredible development in membership figures. “Obviously the success of the first team has been a real help to us – both the DFB Cup win in 2018 and our unforgettable European campaigns,” the Eintracht president continued. These achievements are only one of the reasons behind the growth, though, with the club’s clear stances, commitments and shared values being drivers of sustainable development in recent years.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank from the bottom of my heart the 100,000 people who have shown their love for Eintracht Frankfurt via their membership of the club.

“Our dedication has meant that we have now been able to create a climate of trust and solidarity,” Fischer said. “Our members give us so much support and truly are the beating heart of the club. Behind these figures though, there is an incredibly committed team of employees who are working on our development every day, in various different capacities but all with real passion. I would like to take this opportunity to thank from the bottom of my heart the 100,000 people who have shown their love for Eintracht Frankfurt via their membership of the club.”

Diversity reflected in membership

The 100,000 members are people of varying ages, backgrounds and nationalities. Eintracht Frankfurt is colourful, diverse and international, which is what truly sets it apart, as well as being the biggest club in the region.
Over 10,000 people regularly take part in one of over 50 sports wearing the eagle on their chest, making Eintracht Frankfurt probably the biggest multi-sport club in the world linked to a professional football team. “We can be justifiably proud of what we have achieved today,” Fischer concluded, “but resting on our laurels in terms of membership numbers is not the Eintracht Frankfurt way. I’m already looking at new goals that we can set out together for the future.”
