It was also important that, after Bielefeld pulled it back to 3-1, we made it 4-1 soon after the break. I’m thoroughly happy because we outplayed a team who have kept a clean sheet in four of their last five games and scored great goals. We were always hungry, we wanted to defend as a unit. We’ve shown in recent weeks that we’re playing at a good level and are exuding confidence. It was an all-round successful afternoon.”

Makoto Hasebe: “We deserved to win today. Bielefeld have conceded very few goals lately but we managed to score five, so I’m pleased. We’re in very good form at the moment.”
André Silva: “We feel really good and we produced a good performance. We want to carry on like this. We worked hard for this win and deserved it. For the first goal I was standing in the right place, and for the second I struck the ball really well.”
