Best Wishes To Martin Fenin!

Czech Republic international player Martin Fenin who left the Eagles for Energie Cottbus not long ago was taken to hospital for a serious cause last weekend.

Martin suffered a cerebral haemorrhage and was taken to a Cottbus hospital last Saturday. Meanwhile his situation has improved but he will remain in hospital for further medical attendance. It is yet to be seen when he can go back to training or playing football.

But hopes are high that he will conquer his illness with the support of Energie Cottbus, his manager Pele Wollitz and of course his team mates.

Energie Cottbus has now agreed to the striker’s wish to take some time off in order to cope with his serious disease pattern. Fenin will resort to permanent medical treatment after consulting the medics, his parents and further people close to him.

In a statement on the club's website Martin Fenin told the public: “I finally came to the conclusion that I am not able to take control of my illness on my own. For a few months now I had the feeling of resignation and of loneliness accompanied by depressive impulses. These were worsened by my temporary escape of using pharmaceuticals and climaxed in this alarming diagnosis. I tried to fight it but I have to admit that I will not be able to cure it without help from others. I am grateful for the support and understanding given to me by Energie Cottbus. In order to come back to the football pitch and to reach my top level again I need some time off with medical care.”

Everyone at Eintracht - team, manager, club and fans - would like to express their best wishes to the 24 year old who is very popular in Frankfurt.

Get well soon, Martin!
