Altintop staying on at Frankfurt

Eintracht Frankfurt have retained the services of Halil Altintop for a further two years. The German-born Turkish international forward on Friday (July 2nd) put pen to paper on a contract extension through to June 30th 2012.

Altintop, 27, joined Frankfurt from Schalke 04 during the winter break, initially on a half-season deal through to the end of 2009-10.

Healthy scoring record

"I'm happy that we've been able to fulfil the coach's wish and keep Halil Altintop on our books", chairman Heribert Bruchhagen commented after the formalities of the deal had been concluded.

Altintop made 15 league appearances for Eintracht Frankfurt over the back end of the season, scoring three goals. The twin brother of FC Bayern midfielder Hamit Altintop, Halil has thus far racked up 202 top-flight outings all-told, hitting the net 47 times. He made his debut for Turkey in 2005, and has scored six goals in 24 games for them.
